Staff News
We're excited to announce that Niki Baumann nikib@eln.bc.ca has joined the AskAway team. Niki is a recent SLAIS grad and has worked most recently at UBC's Woodward, Biomedical Branch and Hamber Libraries, as well as at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC Library. Niki will be staffing AskAway on evenings and weekends. She'll also be working on various projects such as developing and coordinating the online training sessions we'll be offering this term (a blog posting about the sessions will follow shortly). We know that Niki will be an asset to our team, helping us make AskAway the best it can be!
Jeff Davis jeffd@eln.bc.ca is still with us as our on-call librarian, so please email him if you are unable to find someone to take your shift at your local institution or via the service providers listserv. Jeff is also working with Gordon on the technical aspects of AskAway, so please feel free to email him or Gordon with any technical issues you wish to document or discuss.
More Libraries Joining AA
We now have the full complement of post-secondary libraries in BC on-board! Over 140 librarians from 27 institutions across the province will be staffing AskAway this term. A warm welcome to librarians from the following institutions that are joining AskAway this term:
Capilano College
College of New Caledonia
Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design
Justice Institute of BC
Langara College
Trinity Western University
Look for new policy pages and guest logins for these institutions on the Librarian's Portal and in the Policies link in the QP chat monitor. (An email reminder about the username and password for the guest logins page was sent out to the service providers listserv from Sunni on Jan 15/2007).
As always, if you have any questions, drop us a line! Sunni sunnin@eln.bc.ca or Gordon gordonc@eln.bc.ca
